AES Awards WSC Contract for SAE Support to Model the Eagle Valley CCGT Steam Bypass System

AES Eagle Valley is a Combined Cycle 2x2x1 Gas Turbine Power Plant that provides a net 691MW of power to the greater Indianapolis area. The Steam Bypass System is used to avoid steam turbine overheating under certain operating conditions of the plant. With this award, WSC will model the Eagle Valley Steam Bypass System using Simulation Assisted Engineering (SAE) to support AES's efforts to debug and validate the new controls being implemented into the power plant.  SAE is used by customers worldwide to validate conceptual designs, identify errors in the plant/system design, and improve operation and maintenance through development and refinement of normal and abnormal operating procedures and has been proven to save valuable time and expense in plant DCS and equipment upgrades and improvements over the lifetime of the plant.
